"Every man has in him something divine, something his own, a chance of strength and perfection in however small a sphere, which God offers him to take or refuse. The task is to find it, develop it, use it. The chief aim of education should be to help the growing soul to draw out that in itself which is best and make it perfect for a noble use."
~Sri Aurobindo.
Practices are adapted to individual needs and abilities and provide useful tools for managing stress and identifying, understanding and releasing old patterns, beliefs and emotions that no longer serve us.
The practices provide an opportunity to develop greater insight and awareness of the many layers of our being, and the more subtle aspects of ourselves. Through regular practice we can gain skills that enable us to better regulate our nervous system, gain more emotional intelligence and self regulation and develop deeper self knowledge and awareness. As a result we may have a greater sense of life purpose and meaning, and a deeper spiritual connection.
Exploring through the body, breath and mind with movement, postures (Asana), breathing practices (Pranayama), concentration (Dharana), self study (Svadhyaya) and sound (Mantra, Vedic chants or the gong) to still the mind and move beyond our physical, mental and emotional constraints. By doing this we can prepare ourselves for opening more easily to the state of meditation, thereby merging with the deeper part of our being, our true spiritual nature.
